Medication Assisted Treatment
Medication Assisted Treatment
Resa Treatment Center offers a multitude of behavioral interventions to provide our clients with the best possible care. Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is the use of FDA-approved medications, in conjunction with counseling and behavioral therapies in effort to provide a “comprehensive” approach to the treatment of Substance Use Disorders. The two forms of MAT utilized at Resa Treatment Center are as followed:
Naltrexone (Vivitrol):
office-based non-addictive opioid antagonist that blocks the effects of other narcotics; daily pill or monthly injection.
Buprenorphine:
office-based opioid agonist/antagonist that blocks other narcotics while reducing withdrawal risk; daily dissolving tablet, cheek film.
